We’re pleased to announce that Altius Space Machines has volunteered as a Host Institution for the Brooke Owens Fellowship Program, with internships through this program starting in the summer of 2017. The Brooke Owens Fellowship Program is a highly competitive, paid internship and mentorship program designed to honor the memory of beloved space industry pioneer and accomplished pilot, Brooke Owens, by inspiring and training exceptional undergraduate women seeking a career in aviation or space exploration. Many if not most of us in this industry owe where we are to someone giving us a chance to prove ourselves, and we’re always excited for the opportunity to “pay that forward” by helping future generations of space engineers and entrepreneurs get a start in the industry.
As a member of the Altius team, the selected fellowship participant will have the opportunity over the summer to participate in hands-on development, prototyping, and testing of space robotics systems, with mentoring provided by both Altius and an industry mentor provided through the fellowship program. If you’re an undergraduate woman interested in getting involved in space robotics, please check out the details and application instructions on the Brooke Owens Fellowship Program website, and make sure to get your application in before December 5th!
